Should Mortal Kombat 9 be ported for the PlayStation 4 ?

When it comes down to popular fighting titles of the early 10’s along with Super Street Fighter IV one of the many titles that instantly comes to mind is Mortal Kombat 9 which was released for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 back in 2011. Since its release Mortal Kombat 9 was praised for its storyline covering the events of MK I-III along with its cinematic cutscenes and in depth roster containing popular characters from the series such as Liu Kang, Raiden, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage, Sonya Kitana, Milenna and more. Since its release Mortal Kombat 9 had managed to set approximately 3 million copies and considered to be a fighting title that everyone has wanted to see on the PS4 and Xbox One for quite some time now.

While Mortal Kombat X was also a great game following its release in 2015 MK 9 was arguably more popular following its release back in 2011. If we do not hear or received a reveal trailer for Mortal Kombat XI anytime in 2019 than re-releasing MK 9 would be the next best thing that NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros Interactive can possibly do at this point.
