Nintendo Switch named the best selling game console of 2018!!!

As many people know this past year was a very enjoyable time period within the gaming world and there is no doubt that things will be much better throughout 2019. But as far as game consoles are concerned it has recently been revealed that the Nintendo had managed to outsell its competitors Microsoft and Sony in 2018. It has recently been reported that the Nintendo Switch at managed to sell approximately 8.7 million units in the United States while reaching over 22 million worldwide.  It should not come as much of a surprise that the Nintendo Switch was the best selling game console of this past year especially considering the fact that the game system is still con to be new following its release back in March 2017.

However, some might be surprised by the fact that the Xbox One managed to sell more than the PS4 did overall this past year since Sony is still technically has the lead over Microsoft and Nintendo in relation to the console wars. But than again the Xbox One X came out back in November 2017 and it was a console that is not only more fresh on the market than the PlayStation 4 Pro from 2016 but its also a huge attraction due to its optimal visuals and its backwards compatibility with older generation Xbox video games. But as it currently stands the Xbox One X was and still is priced at $499 in America while the Nintendo Switch averages around $299. While the PlayStation 4 Pro averages around $399 its not too surprising to know that the Nintendo Switch ended upcoming the best selling console of 2018.

Would Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite be a big attraction for the Nintendo Switch?

Ever since, its release back in 2017 was a fighting game that received mixed reception from fans and critics alike. While the inclusion of a story mode with cinnamon cutscenes was a step up from its 2011 predecessor Marvel vs Capcom 3 along with improved in game mechanics the game was criticized for its roster. Also, many people were not too happy about the fact that Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite only feature two on two tag-team game opposed to three on three similar to what we got in MvC 2 & 3. While Marvel vs Capcom Infinite could have definitely have been better it was still one of the better fighting games of 2017 next to Dragonball FighterZ.

If Marvel vs Capcom Infinite were ported to the Nintendo Switch it could definitely be an attraction for the hybrid console despite having low sales on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. But then again with games like Super Smash Bros Ultimate along with the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, and Dragonball FighterZ on the Nintendo Switch there is still a possibility that MvC: Infinite will still be overshadowed if it were ported to that console. While MvC: Infinite may not be a huge attraction on the Nintendo Switch it would still turn heads regardless if it were ported to the hybrid console.

Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy will now be backwards compatible with the Xbox One

As far as upcoming releases are concerned in relation to 2018 blockbuster news was recently announced regarding the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy. For those who have played Final Fantasy XIII, FFXIII-2 and Lighting Returns between ’09-’13 you will be happy to know that each game will be be backwards compatible with the Xbox One on November 13th. In fact, Microsoft had revealed this info regarding the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy at their XO18 in Mexico City just recently which was something that caught the gaming world by surprise.

However, there some people who are not surprised by the announcement regarding the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy being playable on the Xbox One. After all, its well noted that Square Enix was bringing older games within the Final Fantasy series such as FFVII, FFX, FFXII along with FF Crystal Chronicles to the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2019. In fact, some people were probably expecting FFXIII to eventually be one of the many games that would be playable on the Nintendo Switch. But then again, was a more recent entry in the Final Fantasy series compared to titles that came before it.

The visual quality of Final Fantasy XIII would most likely be more superior on the Xbox One opposed to the Nintendo Switch if Square Enix actually tried to port it. Besides porting all three Final Fantasy XIII titles to the Nintendo Switch would probably be very time-consuming for Square Enix overall. Despite, Final Fantasy XIII trilogy not being the most popular games within the series it’s still very exciting to know that those titles will now be playable on a current generation console. The Final Fantasy XIII trilogy will not be playable for the PlayStation 4 unless Square Enix decides to make separate ports of each game for that console.

Should Dragonball FighterZ include cross-platform gameplay?

As it currently stands right now Dragonball FighterZ is currently one of the hottest fighting games out right now and it has been since its release during the start of the year in January. Initially, Dragonball FighterZ was released for both the PlayStation 4 along with the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. Not too long ago FighterZ was ported for the Nintendo Switch last month in September and since then people have wondered whether or not Bandi Namco had any plans on having a feature that would allow cross-gameplay between different consoles.

While Microsoft and Nintendo would have no problem with the idea of games such as Dragonball FighterZ having cross-platform gameplay its uncertain if Sony feels the same way since they took a solid stance against the concept months ago. However, it was back in September when executives from Sony changed their mind in relation to having cross-platform gameplay with the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch with Fortnite. Seeing cross-platform gameplay for Dragonball FighterZ would also be pretty cool as well but its seems likely that it will not happen.
