It has been recently reported that the Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest has been outselling the PS4 version. There are numerous factors might contribute to why the 3DS version of Dragon Quest XI is having more success than the PS4 port. One of the reasons could be that more people have a Nintendo 3DS opposed to a PS4 since its less expensive.
Another reason could be that most people generally like to buy shooter titles for the PS4 mainly because they have great online multiplayer modes. While RPG games are also popular on the PS4 games as Dragon Quest XI are not quite as popular in America like they are in Japan. Even though, the quality for the PS4 port of Dragon Quest XI might be superior the Nintendo 3DS seems to be doing surprisingly well in terms of sales.
Since Dragon Quest XI was released in late July of 2017 it has quickly become one of the best selling games for the PlayStation 4 in Japan. Dragon Quest XI had retails over 2 million units worldwide within 48 hours after its release and has sold at least 3 million units overall. In America shooter based video games along with RPG’s are both popular genres that people love to buy especially for the PS4 and Xbox One. Sometime between 2017-2018 Dragon Quest XI is expected to be ported for the Nintendo Switch. Since the Nintendo Switch has done great in sales in America Dragon Quest XI would be a role playing game will generate the interest of people who own the console.
One of the few games that many people are excited to see for the Nintendo Switch is Dragon Quest XI. One of the cool things about Dragon Quest XI is the fact that it feels like a hybrid between retro and modern day gaming. The mixture of both 2D & 3D graphics add a nice touch to the game which added to the overall appeal to Dragon Quest XI. As most of us know Dragon Quest XI is one of the few games that has been highly anticipated for other game consoles besides the Switch such as PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo 3DS. The online gameplay for Dragon Quest XI was interesting along with the 2D/3D hybrid graphics that were utilized in this game. When Dragon Quest IX was first released for the Nintendo DS it was very impressive in terms of sales especially during its first week.

Since its releasse back in 2009, Dragon Quest IX has been well known to be the best selling game within its series.
