As many people know the Sega Mega Drive Mini is supposed to be released in retail sometime this year at a date that has yet to be revealed. There are so many classics from the early 99’s such as Streets of Rage II, Golden Axe, Comix Zone along with Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2. However, there has really been no mention on Sonic the Hedgehog 3 being released for Sega’s retro mini console. While there is no official reason on why Sonic 3 might not be appearing on the Mega Drive Mini this year some are speculating that it might possibly have something to do with the fact the late King of Pop legend Michael Jackson had a role in developing the soundtrack for the game.

It should also be noted that Michael Jackson’s: Moonwalker game will also not be included in the set of games that are expected to appear on the Mega Drive Mini possibly due to public controversy that surrounded the late pop singer back in the early 90’s. Instead of Sonic 3 those who purchase the game will only be able to play Sonic & Knuckles which is considered to be part two of that same title unless Sega says otherwise. Its a real shame that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will most likely not appear on the Mega Drive Mini especially since its considered to be one of the more memorable 16-bit titles that Sega has ever made.
