Should the PlayStation Vita be discontinued?

The PlayStation Vita has been out since winter of 2011 and many people have speculated whether or not the handheld game console was more superior to the original PSP.  In terms of features and quality the PlayStation Vita is more superior than the original PSP but in terms of popularity and sales the the PS Vita has failed to surpass its predecessor.  Ever since its release over five years ago the PlayStation Vita has only managed to sell over 4 million units worldwide while the PlayStation Portable had managed to sell over 82 millions units worldwide since its release back in late 2004-early 2005.  When it comes down to actual games the PlayStation Portable had so many cool titles such as Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition, Daxter, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core,  Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.  The PlayStation Vita did not have to many games that were as popular as the ones featured on the PSP.

Also, the PlayStation Vita has been struggling against rival game consoles such as the Nintendo 3DS and the 3DS XL which has sold over 66 million units worldwide since their respective releases in 2011-2012.  When it comes down to handheld game systems it seemed like Nintendo has had an unfair advantage from the start since they have been producing portable gaming devices since the early 90’s.  While some people would argue that the PlayStation Vita should be discontinued since its getting crushed by Nintendo’s 3DS product others believe that the system can sell more units in the millions if given a few years.
