The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening was definitely one of the best Game Boy titles of the 90’s. After Link’s Awakening was released back in 1993 many people enjoyed many things about the game including the storyline, gameplay, cutscenes along with the graphics utilized for this title. The cool thing about Zelda: Link’s Awakening was the fact that it looked like a Super Nintendo game along with the fact that it was released the same year that Link to the Past came out. Even though, Nintendo released The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past in 1993 it would been great if they ported Link’s Awakening for the SNES the following year.
However, it probably was not necessary considering the fact that the Super Game Boy was released in 1994. The Super Game Boy allowed people to play Game Boy titles on the 16-bit Super Nintendo home console which probably means that it did not need a SNES port. Besides if Link’s Awakening was released for the Super Nintendo along with Link to the Past one game might have affected the other in terms of sales. If Link’s Awakening had been released about two years before or a year after Link to the Past for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System it probably would have done great in terms of sales. However, since the handheld Game Boy system was starting to become popular Nintendo need to have great titles on that game system and Link’s Awakening just so happened to fit that mold.
